Permanent Exclusion

Permanent Exclusion

A permanent exclusion is serious and upsetting for both parents and the child. If your child has been permanently excluded from school you may have many questions and be unsure about what will happen next.

Our detailed booklet explains, in clear language, the Headteacher's decision to exclude, what happens to your child during and after an exclusion and how to challenge the decision to permanently exclude. It also covers issues such as unofficial exclusions, children with additional needs or disabilities and other vulnerable groups.

It explains the process that schools must follow and covers the statutory Exclusion Guidance in place from September 2017.
